WestCAT operates regional routes in western Contra Costa County, with service to San Francisco. The WestCAT Rider Guide is a double-folded 28-page booklet that includes a simplified diagrammatic system map along with route maps and schedules for all fifteen routes in the system.
The simplified system map provides an easy way for users to understand the whole system and find their appropriate route before turning to the individual route maps where they’ll find detail down to bus stop locations.
A Spanish version of the rider guide was also created. Special care was taken to design all of the maps with separate English and Spanish layers for only the information that is different in each version. This allows for easier updating of the maps at a later date, as each map need only be updated once.
