Hiawatha Line Kiosks
Light-Rail Station Kiosks and Info Posters
The information kiosks at the Minneapolis Hiawatha Line light-rail stations need to communicate a lot of information for both new customers and seasoned riders. The posters contain a simplified route map, or diagram of the line, showing where the user is, which direction of travel (which side of the station they need to be at) will get them to their destination, and approximate travel time between stations.
A full timetable shows departure times from that station, a map shows the surrounding area and connecting bus routes, and a chart describes how to continue from that station to popular destinations by rail or bus.
In addition, basic information such as fares, how to ride and safety information are included.
I designed these information posters, as well as the kiosks and the complete station signage system while I worked for Metro Transit.
